We are having a lazy morning. It is about 8:27 and we are just beginning to get constructive. Although we have been up for more than an hour (Jim, of course, up for a long time) we are beginning to stir around a little more. Jim, is in fact, about to make some Poppy Seed Muffins!
Yesterday, spent at Key Haven at the Lee House was pretty productive on Jim's part. He got three ceiling fans hung! When Hillary, Lily and I picked up Gabby at school, Hillary said "Amme and Dad'n Dad'n have been working all day." And, Gabby said, "what have they been doing?" Hillary's reply was that Dad'n Dad'n had been hanging ceiling fans and Gabby wanted to know what Amme had been doing. Well, we could not put our finger on exactly what Amme had been doing, so, I started digging around in my mind to come up with something!
Gabby was very anxious to get outside and fish. Hillary and I were hanging pictures. To keep Gabby busy, Hillary suggested she pick up all the leaves under the tree that are falling (big pancake size leaves.) Bless Gabby, she spent a long time under that tree with her trash bag and she got every leaf that was down - she probably even caught some that were on the way down!
Finally, it was time to fish!
The girls and I spent some time outside while Hillary finished up our delicious dinner, crockpot style, as most of her kitchen tools are packed away in boxes on the dining room floor awaiting the new cabinets in the kitchen.
Walt came in, dinner was served, picnic style as the girls ate on a mat on the floor, and Jim and I, Hillary and Walt, grabbed a seat wherever we could find a spot.
Jim, Walt and Hillary had a little time to visit while the girls and I played hide and seek outside - then dusk was upon us, and Jim and I loaded up and drove back here to Lazy Lakes. We got back around 7:00. The campground was quiet, no activity at the 'clubhouse' and that was probably a good thing. We may have felt compelled to go see what was going on.
Jim said last night that he was feeling better and that he knew he would be even better once he got up this morning. And, he was right. He seems back to normal, which is a relief in a lot of different ways.
Today, we think our friend, Bill, from up at Fiesta Key is coming by. Vickie is driving to the airport to pick up her daughter-in-law, Cierra, and suggested Bill visit with us as she would be driving right by here. Great idea and we look forward to seeing Bill.
Also, Walt mentioned that he had a 'showing' at Islamorda (spelling?) and may drop the girls off here. Which works great as well.
I may do a little more weeding in the flower bed here at the campsite. We still have to put out our outside carpet and chairs, for our outside sitting area. So, we have a few things to do that we can drag out to make for a busy morning.
The sun is out bright and warm, I think maybe a 70 degree day. People are up and about outside the camper here so, the day begins.
Enjoy your day wherever you may be -
Gabby caught five fish on this particular day. Lily is holding the towel we use to wrap around the fish to take it off the hook. Gabby was using bread for bait and she can do it all, except take the fish off the hook. She loves to fish and knows the kind of fish that she catches. She told me "these are different fish than you have back in North Carolina!"
Hillary and Gabby on the dock. You can see the intensity of Gabby when she is fishing. Hillary took about a 3 minute break to take a peek at the progress.
Lily sitting on the wall at the dock. She asked if she could sit there, I said sure as long as I am standing here and I heaved her up. Once on the wall, she looked at me and said "did you hurt your arm?" Maybe she was thinking she was too heavy for me.....? Anyway, a sweet concern.
hey it looks like your already having fun tell gabby and lily i said hey
